David Warner, a renowned veteran British actor, passed away at the age of 80.

Radio, television, the theatre, and film all had a part in Warner's eclectic career.

On stage, he was recognised as the best Hamlet of his generation.

"Over the past 18 months, he has faced his diagnosis with a remarkable elegance and dignity," according to Warner's family.

In 1941, Warner was born in Manchester. His parents didn't get married.

He took care of both, calling his upbringing "disturbing" and "messy."

He claimed that his mother left his life when he was a teenager.

He focused on acting for movies and frequently played villains.
