Sadio Mané scores 2 as Bayern Munich routs Bochum 7-0 again

A/P BERLIN — Bayern Munich defeated Bochum 7-0 in the Bundesliga on Sunday to avenge a rare loss from the previous campaign. Sadio Mané scored two additional goals.

Since leaving Liverpool in the offseason, Mané has scored three goals in as many appearances.

Last season, Thomas Reis, the Senegal star, was hardly a threat for Bochum.

Reis remarked before the game on Sunday, "It was a tremendous game from us, people are still talking about it."

Thoughts of the 7-0 defeat in Munich during their most recent meeting, though, dashed dreams of a repeat performance.

Sané's subsequent attempt in the tenth minute was stopped by Manuel Riemann, and the German winger came even closer ten minutes later.

Home the 25th minute, Matthijs de Ligt headed in a corner for his first goal for Bayern since moving from Juventus.

The Dutch defender was starting for the first time for his new team.
