Rescue crews working to recover missing swimmer at Hagg Lake.

According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, the water rescue that took place at Hagg Lake on Monday is currently being recovered from.

According to authorities, a swimmer submerged shortly after 2:15 p.m.

After that he did not come again for at least an hour.

Later in the afternoon, a rescue mission turned into a recovery effort.

In the vicinity of where the swimmer was last seen, the Washington County Sheriff arrived. Additionally, Gaston Fire and Rescue responded.

Due to heat-related safety concerns, the search was suspended for the day. It will now resume on Tuesday.

Boaters are asked to stay away from the area after Boat Ramp A was closed by the Washington County Sheriff's office.
